2003 Crown Vic P71, How to change from 16" tires to 15".

I am building a circle track race car. The brake calipers and spindle are to large. Rubs the required 15" wheels. What can I do?

Have you tried thick flat washers as spacers on the lugs....???

Or if necessary...grind the offending "knuckle'...a small amount if the grind is minor....

May not be on the 'street legal' solutions but could possibly work on the track.....????
I would seek other opinions on these suggestions.....just a thought.....
