Get the OBD codes pulled and read....if you don't have a meter to read them (they only cost about $50 for a simple reader), AutoZone, O'Reilly's, Advanced Auto all do this for free. You have to find out what the computer is trying to figure out so you can figure it out. And search for the code and explanation online...GOOGLE it...some codes are vague in their explanations.
I had a code for a "lean O2 Sensor #2"..AZ told me it was the oxygen sensor on the drivers side (the last sensor after the cats).. I googled the results and found out that most people said it was the MAP sensor that was dirty. I sprayed it with contact cleaner (non residue) and the code has never come back.
