Needing a little advice from all you ranchero loved ones, got a 69 with 302 auto and 2 barrel, for some reason she was sputtering at idle on the right bank, it was determined that the distributor was bad so I replaced it with a rebuilt unit. now it won't run, it will kick but run for no more than 20 seconds, got spark everywhere new plugs installed with cap and rotor. never had a problem with carb before, no backfire and all the settings are perfect, gas smells good. could it need a stronger coil or resistor ? Any ideas ?
Thanks
Jim

Do you have the old distributor that can be put back in to test? Postive that the wires aren't mixed? Voltage to the coil after it starts? I don't know what brands you used but more than once parts have been defective out of the box. |
