An alternative to troubleshooting an intermittent air ride suspension problem is to simply replace the air ride bags with real springs. The air ride control system is relatively complex, especially with very little technical or detailed information available.
I purchased a set of rear springs from Strutmasters Suspensions (via Amazon) for $159.00. This is considerably less expensive than the airbags, compressor, controller, level sensors, etc. while assuring the problem will be corrected.
Once the car was supported and rear wheels removed, I had both airbags removed and new springs installed in less than an hour. Installation instructions were very good, including cutting the signal wire that generates the "Check Air Suspension" warning on the dash board.
The ride is very comfortable while I have the confidence that the problem will not return. |

Mine always airs up but it like times out if it has been sitting long enough then if I turn the car off and back on it comes up to normal. My tire shop guys said one of the bags is leaking so I have some new ones on order. |
