i just purchased a 00 crown vic police interceptor with 120xxx miles on it. Where can i find online a new intake manifold, i want to replace the plastic one with a metal based one. I looked on autozone's website and it showed the plastic one. I just want to get it out the way before it crack's on me. Or do i have to make a trip to the dealer for that part. Also about the interior, the floor its the rubber-rized feel one. How would i go about getting it replaced with the carpet. Will it be costly or a pretty good price.

thanks for all the good feedback to my questions.

There are several companies that make metal intakes, but be ready to pay for them. Check out Edelbrock or http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/parts-accessories/1996-2004-mustang/fuel-air-ignition/ for a metal intake.

Depending on the RPM range you plan to run, the stock plastic intake for PI heads are sufficient below 6000 RPMs. If you can, read the book by Sean Hyland "How To Build Max-Performance 4.6-Liter Ford Engines". It will give you more insight as what to expect from these engines.

Also, check out articles at mustang50magazine.com and musclemustangfastfords.com on intakes.

STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos
