My rear driver side door trim moulding is separating from the door itself. The gap is very small, barely noticeable, but it will only get worse. The dealer tells me it is 400.00 dollars for the moulding, paint and installation, citing that Mercury and Lincoln parts are \\"super expensive\\"
Could I go to an auto wrecker and salvage that moulding part for reuse on my Merc?

I have the same problem on my 03 P71 vic as well..
however on mine there is a small nut/bolt on the corner of the door (7/16) wrench
once that is off I could pull mine off..I also heard that some had revits
which would have to be drilled..
we have a wreckers here and marquis and vics have the same moulding/trim
I could go and have a look..
now the problem is that on some cars, these nuts/bolts they just spin
and you would have to cut it off (they spin due to the rot)
I heard the trim replacement is very expensive

So ya besides you and myself is there anyone else out there have this problem?
PLEASE help!
thanks
