The junkyard should know whether it will fit or not. I believe it should.
I think most civilian 8.8" rear diff had 3.08 gears in it. Some cop cars had 3.27 or 3.55. Several forums talked about changing the gears in the cars (both civilian and cop cars), and if memory serves me correct, you can change up to a 3.55 WITHOUT having to reprogram (flash) the PCM.
