99 CV cracked coil problem

I have a 99 Crown Vic LX 4.6 L. Had a P0345 code. Found cracked COP on #2 cylinder. Replace COP an it cracked again as soon as I cranked engine. Replaced COP and spark plug and COP cracked again as soon as engine cranked. Thought it might be Ignition Control Module but have been told this model does not have one. If that is ture where does the COP wires go? ECM maybe? Any help would be appreciated.
