I bought an '05 cvpi with 87840miles. 1 week later I got a p0402 code. 3 weks after that I now have a p0403 code. I need to go to inspection in NJ. Any idea where I should start tracking down the problem? Thank You guys, in advance!

Try typing the codes into google or youtube...if not there, check-in w/the auto parts stores (AZ...Pep Boys...etc.)

They should give you a general code...

Even call the service dept. of the 'dealer' front service desk...they may give you the brief description...you would think they would try to steer you in for the 'fix'...!!!

Be careful w/the codes....sometimes you'll get 'false-positive' codes....

Fix one...then the remaining codes go away...!!!

dtc 402 is excessive exhaust flow.I would start by checking the egr valve first making sure the valve is moving and not stuck open.then check the dpfe sensor. 403 is the egr control circut.

Check the evap lines at the gas tank that fall out if the holder clips. New gas cap. Very good you tube videos on how to check the evap control module on the fire wall near the passenger side wiper. The module is about 70.00 unless you find one used . Test on the module is easy with large paper clip in the correct port and touch metal . Car doesn't stumble and stall its bad .
