When I first start the truck in the morning, drive does not immediately engage. I put it in drive and it just sits there.. After about ten seconds or so, it grabs and the truck runs fine, shifts fine(in all three speeds) and no other problems til the next morning when this process starts over again..Any ideas?? Please tell me there is a quick fix, truck is rather old and I need it for work.. Thanks

I don't have a full answer for your issue....My 1991 Lincoln TC Exec...4.6 L. 3 speed w/OD...std. AOD
does the same thing during cool/cold weather....

I have changed the filter-N-fluid and check the levels regularly. I think its a mater of bring the trans fluid upto proper temp range so that it expands to capacity and therefor applies the proper PSI pressures in the various gears 1-3 and overdrive.

Of course as you know of the existing issue....@ the beginning of the morning (initial startup) run....drive slowly & carefully to stop signs.....crossing traffic...etc.

Hope this is helpful...
