Hi, I'm hoping to get some advise, I've got a 96 crown vic. Its making a noise when I start it, like a squeeling, it stops once the car heats up, also when I'm at a stop, for instance a red light and the car is in drive with my foot on the brake, if I turn my heat or defrost on my voltage guage is dropping way down by the "L" once I accelerate it goes back up. I have replaced the ideler pulley, I had the alternator rebuilt and I'm running out of money. I had a guy at a shop look at it today and he said that the alternator was reading above 14 volts and looked good but I put the car in gear & he left the tester on for several mins & said that after a few mins of running the lights & heat the voltage dropped to 13 something slowly then jumped back up then slowly back down. Hes saying the alternator is bad?? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
