My driver power window works great, but is loose. At highway speeds, I can't close it without it going slightly off track. It steps forward about 1/4 inch, and doesn't seal. I am assuming that the tracks need adjust ment, but don't know how.....

Hey jrussell174:

If you haven't pulled the interior door cover...that will give you more visibile insight as to how
to make any adjustment (if any)...

it might not be what you wanted to hear from this point but since I don't have any photo images
or point you to a vehicle specification diagram....

The glass is probably loose from the guide rail...?
If so....it will have to be re-set...then re-fastened to that position.

Hope that helps....

my mom has an 02 explorer , the driver side window comes off the track at least once every 2 months. she takes it to a shop and they put it back on the track.

either the bottom of your window is broken OR the tabs that connect the window to mechanism and hold it straight are broken.

get your door panel off and if its the tab fix it yourself for sure. make sure everything is mounted straight and bolts are tight

the mechanisms/motors like to shift positions and the bolts come loose and angle your window causing it to slip. easy fix

I appreciate the info guys. I have taken the door panel off, because I had a chrysler LHS that had the same issue. On that car, it was as simple as tightening a screw that came loose holding the guide rail to the door. The Crown Vic doesn't seem to have the same setup. If I roll the window down enough to grab the edge of the glass at the top, I can shift it back and forth about an inch. When rolling the window up, I have to pull it back to get it to seal. Don't want to get the windows tinted until I fix the problem. As soon as I have a day off from work, I will post a pic or 2.
