my y2k cvpi has the external oil cooler mounted right under the radiator. works great as far as i know but i have one question.
it of course has 2 ends where the lower radiator hose fits on both sides, then on the side it has 2 holes which im pretty sure are for the tranny and motor or power steering to connect. can someone reassure me what the inlets are for?
i ask because since ive had the car the 2 inlets which im asking about have never had hoses connected and im wondering if that makes it useless and i can delete it from the setup (seems like it is useless without the 2 inlets being used)
if anyone knows im also wondering WHY the 2 hoses were never hooked up to it |

Firstly I'm not sure why the other two hoses were not hooked up. Have you tried looking for installation instructions for the setup? Of those systems you need at least two hoses going to it. One being the input and the other being the output, sitting like it is now is just useless to you and dead weight. If you can go to the manufactures website you may be able to find installation instructions on it. |

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Ive closely inspected every inch and hose and there's no unconnected hoses or anything but I never thought about it til I started my project and noticed the empty inlets. Thanks for the info. Honestly I'm not too worried about it....I bought a completely new coolant/radiator setup and the lower hose is cut to fit so I'm just gonna delete the cooler for good. I mean I've never once had an overheating problem with any part on the car so that's that aye!
