just installed PI manifold. after everything was buttoned up i proceeded to button the tstat housing and the bolt on the left side will NOT go down all the way just like on the original intake. the PI comes with spacers but theyre useless....
do i need to get a new tstat housing made for the aluminum xover? |

well the kit came with 2 spacers and a 180 degree tstat. i also have the factory 190 tstat. ive tried both stats with and without spacers alternating sides and the right side bolt just wont go down.
CVN says that it WILL go down if i alternate sides and have patience and finesse but it WONT. same thing happened on my factory intake when i removed the housing to paint it and went to reinstall ,it wouldnt go down and i forced it and it cracked severeley which lead to the replacement.
so many roadblocks |

I only mentioned the Tstat because of a replacement I made as well....the AZO (autozone) store insisted it would work...higher temp. (190)...thinking it would be better for the 'olde engine'....
Well the Tstat would not fit...period. I had to get a 180...the exact size measurement in height
as the original (old and rusty 'bty')...Fit like a lab latex glove...
Check'er twice...
