antbody know if a 4-speed tranny from a 1986 bronco will fit the 302 the trans came off a 300 straight 6 from the same truck any direction would be appreciated as far as clutch, any potential problems the motor is almost ready I cant wait to yank out the old 300 and put in the built beast!

As far as i know there different. You might want to try contacting your local repair shops.

The 300 and the 302 use the same bellhousing. The only major difference is that the 302 uses a counterweight on its flywheel and balancer. The 300 is internally balanced, and uses a flywheel with no counterweight. Get a 302 flywheel (28 oz. or 50 oz., depending on the year of the engine), some 302 motor mounts, and have fun!

My bad, sorry for the confusion, I always thought an I-6 would have a different bellhousing than a V-8 would.

The small 144-170-200 sixes had a different bell, but the 240-300 big six and the 250 small six used the 302 6-bolt pattern.

thanks guys I got all the parts off of the old bronco to put on the new such as motor mounts I just wasnt sure about the tranny thanks for all your help
