yesterday i was having trouble bolting my tstat housing on the PI manny.
today i upped the torque on my impact and it tightened nice and smooth
so i got my hoses all done, heat wrapped my cold/hot air intake, re taped all my wires, and installed new EGR gasket and a screen, i also installed new vacuum lines and heater hose. just waiting on alternator (200 amp) to arrive and shell be done!
btw...in my 2000 p71 can someone tell me where the failsafe sensor connects to? i know since ive had the car it definately has never been connected to anything cuz for 2 years its been hanging right above the water pump all lonely haha. just like my freely hanging oil cooler
thanks |

No clue....since mine is 9 years older...several wire harness changes up to you 2000 model.
No wire diagram therefor...check the library's vehicle database...on/offline access....?
Or just maybe...it became an "extra' port that was never used in the final 'roll-off-the line'
vehicle...even after the 'hard production' of the wire harness....possible...
I'll try to take a peek on my wire diagram manual....it's kind-ah sketchy...Where's she located on the
wire harness...or under the hood...? near the driver side finder well...where the 'olde' OBD1 connector was accessed....?
I realize your 2000 has OBD2....but...'FailSafe Sensor"....I'll look around...
Muddy River Buddy.....lol

Looking @ 1991 Lincoln Mark VII electrical & vacuum troubleshooting manual...5.0 L engine...
don't see anything in the TOC, Index or engine sensor location diagram layout for "FailSafe Sensor"....
Could it be called anything else...? General location again....?

Thanks guys ill check the links. Wizzard its a white (some are green and some are brow)n plug mounted directly to the center of the valley ill take a pic today. It might noit even matter honestly my car is a J code which is incomplete from the factory so maybe it doesn't even need to be connected. |

Actually I think what I need info on is not the fail safe which is the overheat coolant failsafe on the driver side of the block right behind the TC cover. Curemod I'm not sure the name...its just the plug/sensor right in the middle of the valley. |
