I've got a 1991 LTC Exec....
Looking to repace "dead" oem radio w/a 'nice' audio/radio system....

My wife is tired/sick of "silence" during road trips....

Any suggestions.....?
It has a rather large oem opening...but I guess the newer replacement
can have a 'space-filler' above or below the main unit....

Presently, the atenna is a 'run up/down' when the radio is switched on/off...functional....

Thanks for your suggestions...

Go to www.Crutchfield.com for your radio needs. They will help you to choose a radio and speakers that will fit, give you a warranty on what you buy, and give great customer service. You can spend $250 and get a good system with speakers. Or you can spend $2000 or more and get a system to rival your house stereo. Depends on what you care to spend. Replacing the stock speakers with full range or component speakers up front, and going with 3-way or component speakers in the rear shelf will make a world of difference even with an OEM radio.

I would suggest Kenwood or Infinity speakers. And JVC, Kenwood, or Alpine for the radio. Crutchfield provides a lot of the wire adapters, removal tools, and a great illustrated instruction sheets on how to do all the work yourself. I've replaced many myself over the years in a variety of vehicles for friends and family, and Crutchfield has always made it easier for me. And most of the tools you need are common tools any home should have.

Now you can also get some shop locally to do the installation for you, but why pay someone for work you can do in an afternoon yourself.
