Hey everyone, as you can tell I'm new to the forum. I've been looking around at Crown Victorias for sale and recently found 1 I like. It's a 1-owner with 125K on it, looks to be pretty nice. It was never a cop car. The lady is asking $3500 for it, so I'm tempted to pick it up. I need some advice though, as I've never owned one lol.

How good of cars are these, if maintained properly of course. I've heard they have extremely smooth ride quality and I'm really liking the way they look when slammed on some Nascar-style rims. Any tips/advice would really be appreciated! The main use of this car will be for driving from 30 miles into downtown Dallas every day and 30 miles back, to keep the miles on my other car low.

Welcome to the forum. If you do buy the Vic, I know you will enjoy it. It's size alone will provide you with lots of comfort. Repairs to it can usually be done relatively quickly and for less than most cars.

You didn't say what year it was, but most CV built after 2003 are the same as the Police Interceptors, just NOT computer programmed like the cop cars. (This can be solved with a tune if you want to modify the engine some.) The police and taxi companies use these cars mostly for size and comfort. It is not unusual for them to keep these cars until 200K miles or more before getting rid of them. (Most police departments only keep them until they can get more federal moneys to buy new ones.)

The Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, and Town Car are basically all the same; just the level of luxury differs. But if you are willing to, you can make a CV perform almost like a Mustang or as comfortable as a Town Car limo.

Go check out some of the videos on YouTube. And go check out www.crownvic.net for real information on the CV.

I just picked up a 2006 Crown Vic p71 on Friday. Saturday i installed Flowmaster 40 series exhaust and dumped them, dropped in a K&N Cold Air Intake. Still thinking of other stuff. The ride quality is incredible i was on I-95 and couldnt believe i was doing 100 mph. You can't lose.
