I need suggestions on making my 05 CVPI faster?

I have a 05 CVPI with 95k miles on it. I want to make my car a little faster (not a race car lol).
I'm thinking an KN CAI, Hypertech Programmer (or any tuner), and Merc Marauder rear gear??
My budget is $1,000 for parts. I live in Chicago so I would need to pass the emission test with any mods. Any suggestions/ideas is greatly appreciated!!
