Hi, I am looking for someone that could give me an appraisal on a '62 Ranchero I've been looking at. Here's a description of the car: It is an Arizona car, very clean and rust free on the underside and all the way around. Floor and trunk pans are in great condition. The body is solid, but the paint job isn't great. Parts of it are slightly flaking, most likely because whoever performed the older restoration on this car didn't use primer before applying the paint. That is probably the biggest drawback, but it also will need a tune up, like new spark plugs and other minor things, and work done on the brakes to stop them from pulling when you brake. Also, it is not the original 6-cyl engine, a V6 from a '79 Capri is in the truck now. The positives: It starts right up, and drives nice and straight. Not too many miles, but I don't know what the exact miles are. The redone interior is in great condition, and all the gauges and lights work. Also, air condition was installed and works fine. All the glass is in good condition and not broken, and the tires are almost new. I know it's hard to give and appraisal without seeing the car, but any rough estimate would help me out. Thank you.

First are you wanting to do a stock resto or customize it? I wouldn't pay over a grand for it. If you want to do a stock restoration make sure you can undo the drivetrain mods.
