94mgm4.6 with fast idle

hi there,got a 1994 mgm with 4.6 ltr.90,000 miles on it.on start up it will turn around 2200 rpm,can hit gas and will settle down to around 880.while driving at hwy speed will not back off till i slow the car down to under 40 mph and give it a poke on the pedal then it drops down to around 800.at first it gave me a code for temp sensor out of range so replaced both,replaced maf with new......am told it is now either tps or iac anyone help thx

You can go to www.crownvic.net and search on how to clean an IAC. Try that first. If no luck, replace TPS.
