Just purchased a low mileage 03 GM and the radio volume works fine on CD, tape, AM but is very low on FM. Ran the self test and everything checked out. The signal strength on FM was 55 and AM about 33. Pulled the radio and hooked up a universal whip antenna, didn't help. Anyone know of anything else I need to check or is it just a bad radio?

It does sound like a bad radio. Get a radio shop (I know they are hard to find) to check it out. There should be one in Charleston.

If you don't want to go through that expense, get a replacement radio, either factory from a junk yard or a new aftermarket radio. Some of the newer aftermarket radios look better than the factory IMHO.

I guess it was a bad radio, installed a new JVC this morning and it works fine. Kind of weird it only did it on FM though.
