Stiff Gas Pedal and instrument cluster / gauges go down

I have an 08 Crown Victoria and today i start the car and the gauges don't respond in the instrument cluster and the odometer is dark. I pop the hood tap the computer box and everything comes back on>>>do I need a new computer? can I do a plug and play from the junk yard? My accelerator pedal is also hard to press down
