Hello everyone. I have a 01 Vic. Changed the lower control arm but having trouble getting the spring back in. I\\'ve compressed with this:
http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/9870938/ but the rods won\\'t allow the spring to slide in. Someone in this forum was able to get theirs in with the 4 hook internal compressor.:

How would i slide the hooks out once I get the spring in?

The CVs use a coil spring with the shock absorber in the center unlike McPherson struts. You do need a coil spring tool that fits in the interior of the spring to compress it. If there is an Autozone or Advanced auto nearby, you can rent the tool (you get your money back) to do the job.
