Hi Folks, wandering if anyone else has had this problem. While driving along, my 95 CV LX will suddenly stop. First thing that goes is the dash guages, then the car completely dies. Apparently, disconnecting the battery will reset something, then I'm able to drive until the same thing happens. The "check engine" indicator does come on, but no codes for diagnostic come up. Any advice appreciated. |

Sounds like a major ground break or short. Get ahold of the wiring diagram and search for the ground contacts like on the frame, the engine block, and the chassis. One of these could be loose.
Next check the battery contacts to the starter, the alternator, and the main fuses.
I think it may be a loose ground but it is to find which point. I have had individual parts (headlights, park lights, brake lights) stoop working from a loose ground. Be sure to clean any corrosion off the contact point (body and connector) when you re-attach it.
