Go to www.crownvic.net and see what people have done to their cars. Once you start adding about 50% more horsepower than what the engine originally had, you go onto borrowed time. Sean Hyland
http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/ got a stock motor up into the 400 HP range, but then he knew what he was doing.
IMHO, a 75HP shot of nitrous, a small turbo built for a four-banger, or a blower set at the lowest boost will help these engines. But if you want some POWER, plan on replacing the internals with forged. Check out the Mustang forums and you will find people who have hit the 1200 HP mark with forged internals. You may be able to double the stock horsepower on a stock engine, but when it will blow is anyone's guess.
