The engine in my 2006 Grand Marquis misses in snowy weather; otherwise it runs smooth. Any idea why? Thanks

Look for moisture / water collecting in the spark plug valleys under the COPS

It's just a SUPER-DUTY Mustang GT Sedan. 198K miles and still rolling HARD.

1997 Crown Victoria P71 SVT *** ex-US Marshall service (the CAR)
STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos

Also if you are actually throwing codes you can pull them to find out which cylinder is misfiring. In my case last winter I had the same thing happen found out it was number 1 misfiring, looked in the spark plug well and there was no water or anything. Moved the number 1 coil to number 2 cylinder and threw a code a few days later on number 2. After replacing the coil I was able to find a crack in the body that was allowing moisture in and causing my issues.

Miss is very intermittent and brief; never throws out a code. On one occasion it did cause the radio to reset!

Sorry that sucks it always makes it harder to find out which one it is. I would do what jd suggests and see if you have any moisture in the wells. When you do the checks examine the coils closely for any cracks you can also check for resistance with a multimeter on the coils for any shorts.

For primary resistance, measure across both terminals (the ones that plug into the connector in the main harness). Resistance should be within .3-1.0 OHM.

For secondary resistance, measure between one of the terminals at the coil connector and the spring at the bottom (near the spark plug). Resistance should be within 3.5k-9.5k OHMs.
