I am wondering if their is any benefit in having the ECR programmed in my 2003 Crown Vic flashed with the same program as the Police Interceptor.

My local dealership will perform this update, but wanted to ask if any performance gain would be noticed.

The differences between a civilian model and the Police Interceptor is minimal. An increase in idle speed (and fluctuations depending on engine heat), lower and quicker shift points on the transmission, less sensitive knock sensors, and a higher top end (about 120 MPH versus 113 MPH) is all the differences. All these can be reprogrammed with a handheld from SCT or Diablo PLUS these handhelds (with the proper program) can set you up with slightly more horsepower. Their 93 octane program will give you about 15 HP MORE, and increase you fuel mileage.

The Police Interceptors have heavier duty parts in the suspension for mild off-road running, and added coolers for engine oil and coolant.

Go checkout www.crownvic.net, and see the write up they have over there about the differences.

STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos

I was just going to give the dealership a VIN number from the same year, only as it would be a Police Interceptor model.

Would this provide the same results, with the dealership performing the flash?
