I am looking to do a complete engine swap/upgrade. I am looking at a reg. 4.6 with all forged insides, all my options are gonna be forged, next is the 4.6 stroker and last but far from least is the 3.700 Big Bore Boss50.
Ive got some friends with Mustang GTs, Camaros and a few little tinker toy Honda civics (that blows the doors off just about everything,) damn little bastards are quick. I want my Vic to at least give'em a good run.
So, What\\'s Y'alls opinions?

Well, at www.crownvic.net one of the guys installed a Lightening 5.4L supercharged engine in his 2001 CV. Both the CV and the Lightening weighed about the same, so he got similar performance. It just looked funny with a CV with a supercharger sticking out of the hood.

If stealth is your plans, a dual-turbo forged 4.6L will surprise people. By mounting the turbos under the car by the rear axle you need long piping (insulate them good), but they are a total surprise to others until you hear the whine. Never go to big on the turbos. Too BIG, long LAG time. But I have seen at least one locally that was into the 700 HP range. He also had a built Ford 9 inch with Detroit Lockers. This guy told me his mileage sucked, but he could surprise a Cobra.

It's just a SUPER-DUTY Mustang GT Sedan. 198K miles and still rolling HARD.

STOCK?? I bet it was modified.

13.26 @ 107.24 MPH 1/4 mi w/ me, tools, & full tank of 93 octane

I added CAI, NICHE 19 X 8.5 " wheels with 245/45ZR 19 rubbers, and completely rebuilt the front end with poly bushings, Kooks headers, 2 1/4inch exhaust, TCI 2200-2400 rpm Stall converter

.PLANS:: engine upgrade, 5.4L 2v stroker, rebuild interior in leather w/ buckets, thinking about turbos

have to agree use the 5.4 from a lightning. STS makes turbo kits for just about any car. and I am sure BAMA, Diablo or one of those companies will have a programmer that will set you up a tune, and check some of the stang sites for possible systems already tested for correct fuel components
make sure the trans is beefed up and a stall convertor. . your 8.8 if this is an ex cop, government service car, it is already a 31 spline, and pretty heavy duty, if not a daily driver a little deeper gear around 3.50 maybe a good compromise for street and strip, just need a heavier rear cover plate with the cap lock downs. to help keep from having the bearings get over stressed., remember you have to upgrade a lot more than just the engine to go fast, and low 13's in a stock CV is not bad. good luck.
