2008=body on frame ??

my son 2008 P71 93k managed to get rear ended at a stoplight and they are telling me that the damage is too expensive to fix like 4 grand on a car only worth 5 grand does this sound right ...i I thought these cars were Body on frame ???

If the frame is tweaked then you could rack up the repair bills there getting it straight again, plus the body work from a rear end collision and all other parts.
