I have a 2004 Crown Vic and it just developed a new problem. The starter will kick in as soon as the key is turned on and will not disengage.

That is typically caused by the Switch at the base of the lock cylinder slot. Under the lock cylinder there is a multi-position switch used to turn on power to the car, start the car, or provide power to the accessories only. If this switch has rotated in its seat or has started to break apart it will cause this issue. You will need to remove the steering wheel and column cover to get the lock cylinder out to inspect/replace the switch.

I had to replace the steering column the shaft had broken and prevented the key from being able to remove. I have replaced it and the darn thing still tries to start when it is in park and the key is in the run position. I did replace the ignition switch but still no luck for me. Does anyone have any ideas?

The only other things I could think of would be the Starter Solenoid may be stuck, or there is a short in the electrical lines.
