89 crown Vic driver's side door

I have an 89 crown victoria. The driver's side door will not open from the outside, but will open from the inside. What specifically is wrong? I can't find information on a car this old- everything is the newer models. Thanks!

Not quite positive but I'm leaning toward the rod connected to the outside handle or somewhere along that is worn out. I'd take the door panel off and check for anything that looks wrong, who know could be the handle itself. Just a suggestion.
