From my grandmother. As of January, 2014, it has 12,xxx miles...not a typo, LESS than thirteen thousand miles.

My question is what to do with it...is the extremely low miles something that will increase the value enough that I should sell it, and buy something else for my son with it, should I give it to him to drive?

I welcome any feedback as to what to do with this car that has less than 1,000 miles per year put on it

Well high end on Kelly Blue Book is 4500 low end is 3500 so you could sell it for maybe 4000ish but if it were me I would keep it.
1. These things are good for 300k miles if you take care of them
2. They are relatively safe cars to learn to drive and if anything happens very tough in a wreck
3. They are freaking awesome!
But ultimately it depends on if your son will drive it or not. For me my daughter likes my Vic okay but she would rather drive my wife's Astro Van before the Vic.

P.S. Gas mileage isn't horrible either but he would probably need a job if he cruises around a ton.

I too would keep it and agree with all the above comments. I acquired my 93 Grand Marquis from my late father with 93,000 on it back in '02 and it now has 220,000 on it and still runs strong and is my daily driver. These cars are extremely reliable, cheap and easy to repair and very safe if in an accident
