Nothing can slow down a road trip like car trouble, even wheh one or two effective obd2 diagnostic tools at hand may fix it easily. In preparation for a good trip, we would like to list the three most common reasons for breakdowns:
1. Suspension problems
The most disabling mechanical problems beyond a simple flat tire usually have something to do with the suspension problems, although it may seem more likely at a problem with the engine. Suspension problems are much more difficult to diagnose and repair. So you should firstly use an obd2 tool to do troubleshooting and make sure that all your vehicle's lug nuts are securely tightened.
2. Engine fuel problems
Another possible culprit is the lake of engine fuel. The flow of fuel is one of the most important things that your engine most relies on and the car is sure to die if the fuel runs out. If your car just is not running, you should check the fuel and gas to make sure the system is working properly.
3. Electrical or computer problems
The third reason is problems lay in the engines computer or electrical system. Something as simple as a blown fuse can cause the engine to quit running or the transmission to stop shifting correctly. Hence, you should check all the fuses and relays for the engines systems carefully. This task would be easier if you are armed with certain car diagnostic tools.
