So, last night I started my 2003 CVPI and noticed the electrical/battery light was on. The voltage gauge was reading a little lower than normal. The car seemed to be running fine so I proceeded to drive away. About 15 minutes later the light went off and the gauge went back to normal. All was fine… The same thing happened this morning. The light went off and gauge went back to normal after about 15 minutes. What could be the cause? Bad battery or alternator? Also, the temp was slightly below zero as well. Is this something I should be worried about?

...Since then I’ve replaced the alternator twice with same alternator (Genco) from same parts house. The first time I actually think the alternator was faulty, but the second one seemed ok. The alternator seems to work for a little bit and then decides to fail. Does anyone know what amperage the alternator has to be? Does PCM need to be flashed? Does anyone know what could be causing this or what the problem may be? Please help, I’m in dire straits.

Have you checked the belt and pulleys? A belt will look OK but can be worn. Advanced Auto Parts has a free gauge.
