A friend has suggested I should have a trans flush on my new to me 2009 CVPI with 90K miles at any shop that uses BG chemicals/fluids. I have found that BG makes treatments for diesel and gas engines, fuels, trans and rear ends. Checking to see if anyone has experience with BG products, good or bad?

I'm a tech at a small shop here in south Florida and we use BG religiously. They have air induction kits, fuel injector kits, and my favorite their MOA oil supplement. They make a great product but to be honest don't waste your money on a transmission flush if the fluid is clean and does not smell burnt. My 06' panther has 145,000 on it and I got it with the same milege as your 09'. I have yet to do any transmission service on it. You're better off leaving it be and focusing on getting motor craft plugs, fuel filter, etc which can easily be done yourself.

Thanks for the info. What do you think of the fuel additives for gas and diesel ---worth it or hype?

Yes and no to the hype. It's a lot cheaper to buy the chevron techron fuel treatment but honestly just use quality 87 octane and you'll be fine i.e chevron, shell, texaco, Mobil. Stay away from your walmart, costco, and 7-11s. Just do a tune up with fuel cleaner from chevron and you'll be good, congrats on the car.

Thanks for the info. Have changed fuel filter, plugs are next. I have used the Chevron Techron on other cars and will continue. I agree on the good quality fuel, usually try to use Shell, Chevron, etc --- just hope the stores use what the signs say they sell....
