So I got a 2004 police interceptor which we are converting into a 24hrs of LeMons track car.
doing searches on the net, I found this forum. Need your input and suggestions as to how to do it.
1. Handling - I can't change the suspension without a penalty, but can cut the springs, and possibly change to a stiffer spring. - How much do I cut?
2. Wheels/Tires - want to go as wide as possible without any spacers or hub centric rings. Found 17" 255/50 to be most popular here, but want to see if can go wider.
3. Brake upgrades - rotors/calipers/lines/pads - found mustang parts would do the job, but what do you think?

Anything else you can think of to get this thing to handle somewhat good?

BTW - Deleting - AC, Heat, Interior to get it as light as possible. Dash is staying because of all the electronics there.

Thanks!

255/50-17 will fit on stock 17" 2006 Crown Vic steel wheels, if you could use wider wheels then 285 on a wider wheel out back and still 255 up front.
If you want to do lots of work, then you may be able to get Mustang parts for brakes but stock size with better pads and rotors will do just fine, I used PowerSlot rotors and Hawk pads when autocrossing my 2005.

+1 on the LeMons that is awesome one of the most award winning cars last season was a crown vic that kept getting most laps completed and 1st place in its class.

If you hit the 24hrs of LeMons site you can find the pics of the awards cars and I think it listed which races they ran as well

Found them. Gave me great information. They are running 245/40 dunlops on stock rims
