Hello,
I have been writing about a problem I have been having. It is a 72 cpri 2.6L V6 and it just won't start. I have got spark now but I am not sure if it is at the right time. If the sparlk-plug wires are on the wrong spot on the dist will this prevent the engine from turning over better(it seems a little slow...the batteryis full and new starter). I have charged the battery and when I put the engine to tdc and attach the #1 plug wire to the place the rotor is pointing it doesn't seem to help. It there another way to determine tdc and plug hookup? I pull the plugs and stick my finger in the hole and turn over until the compression pushes my finger out. When this happenes is the engine at tdc? When i was checking for spark I pulled one of the plugs out and held it to the block and turned over. The spark was rather big and slightly orange it seemed. Do you think the spark was burning off gasoline on the plug . I thought the spark was supposed to be blue and small??
Thanks Dave
