I have a new for me silver 2011 crown vic was a rental car the tires size is stock 235/55/17 they have maybe 6 months left on them question is will a 255/50/17 tire fit without any fitment issues on the care and the stock wheel .

My play toy is an 85 capri making about 525 rwhp with nitrous .

That size should work. I've know people have that size on their Vic.

If you go to Discount Tire online, they have a photo thingy that will show pictures of any car, and with any size tire and rims that they carry, to show you what your car will look like. It's way cool.
