- Engine
- A mildly modified 460 with an Elgin cam that I don’t like, a stealth manifold, and a stock distributor lighter advance springs, installed with an igniter installed to distribute the spark.
No headers yet, just stock exhaust manifolds, I was on a really tight budget when I put this in my car about 5 years ago. So some stuff I needed to do the project came from the junk yard like oil pan (1984 F250 4x4) new pick up tube for same application. Exhaust manifolds came out of a 1971 Ford station of some sort.
The motor mounts consist of top portion 429 car (new) and bottom from a 5.0 mustang (new) and then a 1 inch spacer that fits between the two and bolted together. FYI. Topped off currently by a 1407 Edlbrock, but i will be going to a 3310-3 750 Holley this winter.
- Drivetrain
- The transmission is a C6 out of a Lincoln with no modifications, shifts good and hard so didn’t see the need.
It has an 8 inch rear end in it while it lasts, I will be looking for a 9 inch to modify for it next. It has Lake Wood Adjustable traction bars that I scored at the Portland swap meet for 25 bucks. And Wildwood 5 on 4.5 disk brakes front and rear.
It has Ford Motorsport front springs and a 1 inch front sway bar. I converted the vacuum brakes to manual with these brakes and it will stop when needed.
