Oil change: 6 quarts of NAPA 5w20 oil was used, as well as 1 NAPA Gold filter.

It should also be noted that around 21,000 miles, the vehicle was brought to a Ford dealership for a noise coming from the steering column. I had already determined that it was the clockspring, however I did not have the time nor the tools to complete the job at the time. Total cost was less than $150.00, per Ford's labor charge and cost for a new clockspring.

Next one due at 24,000 miles.

Napa Gold filter used.

Total cost was $36.04 for 2 filters and 12 quarts of oil, 6 5w20 and 6 5w30. I bought the components for an oil change for the 1997 CVPI at the same time.

01/18/10Miscellaneous19957.1Various Maintenance
Passenger front door was rattling when radio volume was turned up. Problem found was that the window cable was rattling from the increased noise from the speaker; this cable is spooled in a plastic housing and bolted to the door skin. Some insulation was added between the plastic housing and the door skin, which eliminated the rattling.

Black plastic vent trim on top of the dash board was rattling at highway speeds. This piece was removed, mounting clips made wider, and some foam insulation was placed in key spots. Rattling eliminated.

Black plastic lock knob on left pass. hidden door lock had come loose and fallen off. This was resecured and tightened down.

Front driver's seat had wire grid replaced on 12/08/09 with a custom fabricated metal plate held by the original support springs. This metal plate was removed, and a new wire grid and 6 new support springs were installed. There is now no noise coming from the drivers seat, and it is comfortable to use again.
Cost for parts - $60.00

Sirius radio removed from vehicle.

12/16/09Miscellaneous19949.2Mirror and Door Panel
Driver side mirror making excessive noise at 65+ mph speeds. Replaced housing with a used one off of a 2003 CVPI, kept original mirror glass off of the 2006 as it was in better condition.

Rattle in driver side door panel as radio volume was turned up. Cause was determined to be the window cable vibrating against the door skin. Some insulation was added between the plastic cable mount and where it bolts to the door skin - most of the vibration has now been eliminated.

12/14/09Maintenance19800Brake Fluid
Brake fluid was slightly below max fill on the master cylinder reservoir. This was causing the Brake Illumination Light to turn on at medium to hard stops.

Reservoir topped off with NAPA DOT 3 Brake Fluid.

REMINDER: Possible reason for low fluid is worn brake pads. When installing new pads, take out the fluid that was added before installing.

Summer tires removed (17inch GY RSAs on steel rims)

Winter tires installed (16inch Firestone Winterforce(s) on steel rims)

Driver's seat was very uncomfortable and making a lot of noise after driving over road imperfections. Cause of noise was the wire grid that supports the bottom cushion of the seat. Wire grid removed. A plate fabricated out of a street sign has been installed in its place, held in by the 6 springs the grid originally used. This is meant only as a temporary replacement until another grid can be acquired.

06/30/09Miscellaneous14800Changes to Vehicle
No specific date or mileage available for these changes. They were made about a month after purchasing the car.

Rear door locks are hidden - actual lock stem is located on side of door skin, accessible when front door(s) are open. These locks did not operate with the rest of the power locking system; when the unlock/lock button was pressed, only the front locks would engage. Reason for problem was that the rear locking harness inside the door was not plugged in. Problem solved by reconnecting the harnesses.

Rear windows would not work with power window buttons. Same problem as with the rear power locks. Harnesses plugged back in and windows are now in full operational order.
