The 2008 Jeep Liberty introduced the second-generation KK with squared-off styling and a platform shared with the Dodge Nitro, again built at Toledo North. The sole engine was the 3.7-liter V6 rated 210 horsepower, offered with Command-Trac part-time or the new Selec-Trac II full-time four-wheel drive. The option list added the Sky Slider, a full-length power-sliding canvas roof unusual for the class, and overseas the truck continued to sell as the Cherokee.
