1987 Jeep Wrangler Specs & Photos
The 1987 Jeep Wrangler launched the Wrangler nameplate, replacing the CJ-7 with the new YJ generation. It kept solid axles and leaf springs but rode a wider track for better road manners, wore controversial rectangular headlamps, and offered the 2.5L four or the carbureted 4.2L (258) inline-six.
The 1987 Jeep Wrangler is part of the Wrangler YJ generation (1987–1995). See the full Jeep Wrangler 1987–1995 registry →
