The 1956 Continental Mark II, filed here under Lincoln Continental, came from Ford's standalone Continental Division rather than Lincoln itself. The hand-finished hardtop coupe used Lincoln's 368 cubic inch V8 rated 285 gross horsepower and listed near 10,000 dollars, among the most expensive American cars of its day. About 3,000 Mark IIs were built across the 1956 and 1957 model years.
