05eng4.jpg Thankfully, there was no sign of sludge having flaked off the original intake.  The timing chain was still VERY tight, but I'm not putting it back.  The pan gasket was cork, but the valve covers were steel-reinforced nitrile.

Since the long block seems to be OK (it's a Jasper reman installed probably less than 5Kmi ago), this is as far as I'm going - now, I'll put it back together and paint it.

I'll probably swap out the oil sender plumbing for a factory part.
