1955 Mercury Monterey Specs & Photos

The 1955 Mercury Monterey was restyled with a wraparound windshield and dropped to the middle of the Mercury range, below the new top-line Montclair and above the Custom. Its Y-block V8 grew to 292 cubic inches, rated at 188 hp (gross), while a higher-compression 198 hp version powered the Montclair. Body styles included two-door and four-door sedans, a two-door hardtop, convertible, and station wagon. Transmissions were a three-speed manual, optional overdrive, and the Merc-O-Matic automatic.
