The 1975 Toyota Hilux was the last pickup sold under the Hilux name in the United States; from 1976 the truck was marketed here simply as the Toyota Pickup while the Hilux badge continued overseas. For 1975 the second-generation N20 truck received the new 20R 2.2-liter SOHC four, rated 96 horsepower, in place of the 2.0-liter 18R-C. The year also introduced the SR5 sport package, which brought a five-speed manual transmission to the light-truck line.
