44s just aren't big enough for cruising campus, partying, and commuting a few blocks to work. These 53s MIGHT do it. But since the first lift was installed so badly, the frame will have to be swapped before the Rockwells can go in....

Just buttoning it up now. We trimmed it to fit around the A-pillar reinforcements, but it doesn't show when everything is put back....

This is a fairly straightforward & easy job, especially compared to most other vehicles. The dash had to come away from the firewall slightly to access 1 screw on each end, facing the A-pillar....

There are 2 screws that go in from the back, and this one is actually INside the duct, so it's not accessible. The nut in the skin has to be compressed & released from this side to get the dash off. The other one is over the radio, but it can be removed with a small ratchet....

Rather than fight all the wiring (which has to stay in the truck anyway), we decided to just swap the mocha skins. The dash structure is actually the ductwork. ...

The column is dropped & the cluster is being removed. The glove box, radio, & ash tray are out, and the A/C panel is loose, ready to be shoved back thru as the skin comes off....

The glove box strike has been broken out for a long time, so we finally found a good dash in a junkyard. The cage has been waiting for this since it will prevent any major dash work. ...

The glove box strike has been broken out for a long time, so we finally found a good dash in a junkyard. This one is from a '96 F150, and it has been pressure-washed. The cage has been waiting for this since it will prevent any major dash work....
