Eric,
Very well done!
Makes me want to do this myself to my 2001 Ex LTD.
How is the ride?

The ride is great...there's actually a front suspension again!

Now it's time for the rear springs and shocks all around. Going to wait another couple of weekends for that project, though.

You reused the old U-bolts?!? It is my understanding that U-bolts stretch (as all bolts do, but...) and should not be reused.

I ordered new u-bolts from Ford. They gave me square-bend u-bolts, but my Excursion uses "semi-round bend" u-bolts. I had no other option at the time other than to reuse them. They were visibly in good shape (no rust or rusted threads), so it as a judgement call I had to make.

I have new ones for the rear but need to get the correct part number for the fronts. I'll take care of this when I install the rear add-a-leaf in the next month or so.

I have not done anything to the rear springs, yet. I have a set of rear add-a-leafs that I will be installing and will be keeping the existing rear leaf springs.
