An older picture, it used to be lowered as you can see, the springs are now gone and the stock ones are on. Since this picture I have also shaved the Ford emblem, made the turn signals clear, and painted the wheels gunmetal.

Maintenance & Modification Logs

Ahh, the fun is beginning
Recently I decided my car needs some loving. About a month ago I tore out the interior, just to clean it up real good, but I then started customizing and painting things. Interior trim pieces are being painted gunmetal, to match the painted stock wheels, and it looks really good against the black. I bought some reverse glow gauges, because I wanted to change the color from green to blue without replacing bulbs or doing the LED thing, plus during the day the gauges are white, which looks neato. I got a gauge overlay that I painted gunmetal as well on there too. Still need to make the needles red though. After I get the interior finished and reinstalled, I plan on making a new leather shift boot to accent my new RR-Racing short throw shifter, and I plan to get a new shift knob, and make an e-brake boot as well. The center console is being sanded down to be smooth, and will be painted gunmetal. After all of that is finished, it will conclude the interior customizing until I have money growing out of my ass.
Next, under the hood. Not much has changed. I believe in not only fixing the broken things first, but replacing worn out stock stuff with aftermarket stuff. The engine is still running good, but is a bit rough at times. I replaced the distributor rotor, alternator, and battery, but none of that fixed it. I bought some PRD plug wires to upgrade from the old and burned NGK's. No difference could be felt. So I'm still searching for the cause of the roughness. I have a fuel filter waiting to be installed but I doubt that will fix it though.
Supsension stuffs. For the longest time my ball joints have been bad, making the car wander with every uneven surface of the road. Very irritating and dangerous. I finally got some new control arms to bring it back to feeling like new. I knew the struts had to be on their last leg as well, so I bought some Tociko HP struts to replace them. And since I was going to be doing that, I got some Arospeed coilovers to make it handle/look better. I also still need to buy a new axle before installing those things, as the boot is ripped on one side.
Brakes. My stock brakes suck. They squeel when I'm not even braking, just going straight or turning right, they squeel. And reverse just sounds nasty. I haven't even bothered to check the pads or rotors, because I know they're shot with the way I drive. So, Power Slot rotors and Hawk HPS pads are going to be installed tomorrow to fix this. Yay!
Exhaust. My stock exhaust is broken at the muffler. I have a test pipe replacing the cat, and that's all the other mods I have done to that. Rather than spend hundreds of dollars for something everybody else already has, I spent hundreds of dollars for something custom. I bought a Flowmaster muffler, and a welder, but I still need to buy piping, a resonator, and the tips to finish it off. Once I get those I will start welding it up and put it on, and I can't wait, and neither can my ears.
Body wise, the car looks like CRAP. Stock paint barely exists anymore due to wrecking/replacing panels/spray painting. But this will be corrected with time. I'm tired of looking stock on the outside as well as being stock on the inside, so I'm doing some body mods too. My touring spoiler had some cracks so I'm repairing those, I bought an FX Xdreams rear bumper because it's my favorite one available and not many people have it, I have a front lip not made for the GT front but I will be modifying it to fit, and customizing it too, and I will either buy FX combat sideskirts, or customize the stock ones. In the mean time, all body damage (dents and dings, etc.) will be repaired, and the car will be spray painted flat black, just to make it all evenly colored, because right now it's just plain ugly. Hopefully all of this will be accomplished by spring time, and I will have a family member paint my car with REAL black paint.
Other stuff that still needs and plans to be done: New clear turn signals, new headlights, replace cracked taillight, tint windows, get a stereo going on, and I think that's all.
All of this, should make me enjoy my car for a long time, while I save up my money and work on my motor build and turbo project.

I'm a bit lazy, and I'm just now starting to fix the damaged portions of the 95 rear bumper. I filled the deep dents with Bondo Glass, and now I'm going over it with body filler. It's taking a long time, since there's a lot of barely noticeable damage. I'm still not sure if I'm going to try and modify the bumper any. I don't much money for materials now. Plus I want to fix all of the dents and previous body work on the rest of my car, which means ruining the paint. I need to get a job.

07/03/04Modification130000Working on 95 Rear Bumper
For a few weeks I've slowly been prepping a 95+ style rear bumper. It's off my friend's wrecked Probe, which was repainted horribly. So, the paint on the bumper was all cracked and nasty, and I decided to strip it all down to the plastic. Come to find out that there's some bondo on it as well, which was put on over top of the original paint and caused the cracking through the re-paint. As of today I've got about 70% of it stripped down to the plastic. After I get it completely done I am going to fix the damaged parts the correct way, fill the holes from the badges, and if I'm still up for it, possibly do some modifications to it to make it appear "less stock", and accept dual exhaust. So far I have bought 1 can of paint stripper and a drill attachment. Bumper cost was only $20.
